Melissa Werner
Medical Director, DVM
Dr. Melissa Werner grew up in Prospect and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Simmons College in Boston, MA. She then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 at The Ohio State University. She is excited to be back home and join the team at Prospect Veterinary Hospital as the Medical Director! Dr. Werner’s professional interests include general practice, internal medicine, and dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her mastiff “Mila” and spending time with her family and friends.
Charlin Pereira
DVM
I grew up in a small town in CT but am originally from Costa Rica. I received my B.S in Biology from Ithaca College and then went on to receive my DVM at Iowa State University. I enjoy treating animals in a general practice setting and strongly believe in educating the public about the importance of population control and overall preventive care for our furry friends. I have an interest in shelter and wildlife medicine and like to explore these areas of vet med during my free time.
Amanda Paul
DVM
Dr. Amanda Paul is originally from Rockland County, New York and is excited to make Connecticut her new home! She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Delaware in 2019, and then her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2023. Her professional interests are ever growing and currently include preventative care, internal medicine, and behavior. She enjoys spending her free time with her friends, fiancé, and dog, Korra.

Sheila Clancy
DVM
Dr. Sheila Clancy grew up near Buffalo NY. She is a 1997 graduate of NC State’s College of Veterinary Medicine and has degrees from St Lawrence University and Duke University. Dr Clancy is owned by her dogs Josie and Hudson and her cat. She enjoys cycling, kayaking and watching college basketball (go, Duke!)
